Known as "liquid gold," for good reason, our Essential Oil Coat Conditioner is a natural solution for enhancing your horse's shiny, healthy coat. This conditioner deeply nourishes the skin, maintains hydration, and helps to stimulate and promote suppleness, ensuring your horse looks and feels their best all year round. Due to the oils small molecular size, it is easily absorbed by the hair shaft and skin rather than coating it. Infused with pure essential oils and free from silicones, parabens, and sulfates, our conditioner is also cruelty-free and proudly Australian-made!

1. Intense Hot Oil Treatment
Ideal for post-washing or clipping, hot oiling effectively rehydrates your horse’s coat, especially if natural oils have been stripped. Follow these simple steps:
Fill a bucket with warm water.
Add 50-100ml of Essential Oil Coat Conditioner. 
Using a microfibre towel or sponge, dip it into the bucket and gently wipe or sponge over your horse.
Do not scrape off; allow the treatment to absorb into the skin. (Thanks to the oil’s consistency, this won’t take long!)
Enjoy the resulting shine!
2. Mixed with Shampoo
Looking for extra hydration and shine during shampooing, especially before a competition? Simply add some oil to your brush or sponge while shampooing.
Wet your horse’s coat with water.
Apply Hairy Pony Natural Shampoo to your Wash Bay Brush or sponge.
Add a dash of Essential Oil Coat Conditioner.
Scrub your horse as usual.
Rinse off and admire the natural glow!
3. Daily Coat Conditioning Treatment
Perfect for everyday use, this easy spray can be a staple in your grooming routine. Regular grooming promotes natural circulation, aiding in easier coat changes.
Pour 50-100ml of Essential Oil Coat Conditioner into a 1L spray bottle (use our silicone cup for easy measurement).
Fill the rest of the bottle with water.
Shake well!
Generously spray your horse all over and brush through the coat.
Top Tip: Shake the bottle well before each use to prevent oil and water separation.
FAQs about Essential Oil Coat Conditioner
Is it suitable for fluffy coats?
Yes, it works on all coat types! While best results are seen on naturally thinner summer coats, the oil absorbs quickly and imparts a beautiful shine regardless of coat length.
Will it make my horse slippery? Can I use it the day before a ride?
Since our oil is silicone-free, it doesn't create a slippery layer. It absorbs into the coat without buildup. However, ensure the oil is properly diluted and not applied as a concentrate.
Will my horse burn in the sun?
The oil absorbs quickly and doesn’t sit on the surface. However, we recommend waiting until your horse is dry before exposing them to direct sunlight, especially after a hot oil treatment.
Does it attract dust and dirt?
Being silicone-free, our conditioner actually repels dust and dirt rather than attracting it.
